Made by Flather & Co., Nashua, N.H. This Lathe is a new size, of which the patterns have just been finished. It is a beautifully designed Lathe, as shown in cut on the opposite page. A general description of this lathe, describing the new patent feed, can be found here. 14-inch swing, 6-foot bed, will take 3 feet 6 inches between centres. Swing over flat carriage, 8-1/4 inches; swing over double carriage, 7 inches. Flat carriage, as shown in cut on opposite page, has power cross feed. Hole through head spindle, 5/8 inches in diameter. There are four changes for feed belt, giving a range of belt feeds from 53 cuts to 125 cuts per inch; and a great many changes of gear feed (through the rod and friction), from 5 to 425 cuts to the inch. The screw has change gears to cut from 4 to 36 threads per inch. Speed of countershaft, 125 revolutions per minute. Friction pulleys, 10 inches diameter, 3 inches face.
