Gap Chucking Lathe.

Made by W. H. Eddy, Worcester, Mass.

        This  machine is used for chucking holes in pulleys, gears, couplings, etc. The cone has four steps and is double-geared. The tail spindle has power feed and quick return. Length of bed, 7 feet. Distance between centres, 3 feet. Swing over top of bed, 24 inches; swing over gap, 48 inches. Length of gap, 24 inches. Largest diameter of cone, 14 inches. Width of cone faces, 3-1/2 inches. Front bearing in the head, 3-3/8 inches in diameter and 5 inches long. Tail spindle is 2-1/8 inches in diameter, and has 16 inches of traverse.
       Tight and loose pulleys for countershaft, 18 inches diameter, 4-1/4 inches face. Speed of countershaft, 100 revolutions per minute.

Weight, 2,500 pounds.
